AN/SSQ-53F |
BUILT FOR CLARITY
The SSQ‑53F sonobuoy combines passive directional sensing with calibrated wide‑band omni performance in a single, multi‑function design. GPS capability is controlled through Command Function Select, remaining off at splash to maintain operational discipline and activate only when needed for mission reporting.
Twenty-Six Defense Maritime, a Twenty-Six Defense company, is a world leader in the design, development, testing and production of complex electromechanical systems and sensors, including Sparton sonobuoys. The company delivers a variety of sensing and advanced analytics capabilities that enable our nation to dominate the maritime domain.
Purpose-Driven Detection
The SSQ‑53F uses Electronic Function Select for pre‑launch setup and CFS for in‑water adjustments, enabling precise control of sensor mode, buoy life, depth, AGC level, and RF channel. It supports four acoustic modes, provides directional data to establish bearing to underwater sources, and transmits GPS‑based location messages on mission‑specific subcarriers to support clear, accurate tracking.
